VPL – IN-PERSON APPOINTMENTS

July 13th, 2020, the Vestal Public Library will open to the public for limited In-Person Appointment-Based Services. Appointment-Based Pickup Services will continue until further notice to accommodate patrons that do not wish to enter the building.

** The public access computers will not be accessible until further notice**

** Room Rentals are suspended until further notice – look for an announcement about sign-up times on the VPL Website**

PROCEDURES:

Vestal Public Library In-Person Services will be limited to 10 patrons permitted in the building at a time for one 30 minute appointment per day for browsing and checkout services only. Until further notice, all library materials must be returned via the book-drop or media-drop receptacles located by the front doors.  

To reserve a time slot for an In-Person Appointment, please call the Vestal Public Library (607) 754-4243. Walk-In Services are permitted on a first come, first serve basis, while maintaining the 10 patron limit.

The Library greeter will allow adults (children under 12 years of age do not count) with appointments  to enter the Library every 30 minutes. Each adult will be handed a laminated ticket that they must return upon exiting the building. Patrons without appointments will be able to sign-up for slots later in the day or wait on a first come first serve basis for any available slots. In order to maintain this system, new patrons will have to wait till the next half hour group to enter the library even if the number of patrons falls below the 10 maximum.

RULES:

 

In order to be granted access to the building, patrons MUST:

  1. Make an appointment – one 30 minute appointment time slot (per patron/per day). Patrons with appointments are guaranteed access, while Walk-In patrons are limited to empty time slots which are available on a first come first serve basis.

  1. Face masks must be worn while in the Vestal Public Library Building.

  2. Maintain a 6 ft. distance from other patrons while in the Vestal Public Library Building.

  3. Promptly exit the building when their appointment is over.
