The Vestal Public Library announces their Open Mic series, 6:30 pm, beginning November 14, 2017. This will be an opportunity for musicians and artists of all genres – vocalists and instrumentalists, actors, and even slam poets – to step out to perform for their friends, family, and community!

We hope to welcome both seasoned performers and aspiring newcomers, and we will feature outstanding members of the local community as hosts, including Dan Fluegel, Chris Koldewey (host of the Cranberry Coffeehouse concert series), and Curt Osgood.

The Open Mic nights will be held on the second Tuesdays of the month, beginning in November, in the Big Meeting Room, starting at 6:30 pm. Since the library closes at 9pm, we hope to be done by 8:30 to allow time for clean-up along with conversation. A small sound system will be provided, but nothing to disrupt the readers in the stacks!

Please mark your calendars for the Open Mic Nights – come out and sing!

Come dazzle Dr. Dan with your talents and get a free seat to some of the best amateur artists in the Southern Tier!

The Vestal Public Library is starting a Book Club this June!  On the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 6 pm, you will have the opportunity to engage in a critical yet friendly discussion about some great works of literature.  The Book Club will be held in the Conference Room and all are welcome!  Our first official meeting on June 12th will be a casual information session about our club including gathering your feedback on what books to choose for the future.  The first title we’ll be reading is Take Me With You by Catherine Ryan Hyde which will be distributed at the meeting.  We look forward to seeing you.
