The Vestal Public Library announces their Open Mic series, the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm.  This will be an opportunity for musicians and artists of all genres – vocalists and instrumentalists, actors, and even slam poets – to step out to perform for their friends, family, and community!

We hope to welcome both seasoned performers and aspiring newcomers, and we will feature outstanding members of the local community as hosts, including Dan Fluegel, Chris Koldewey (host of the Cranberry Coffeehouse concert series), and Curt Osgood.

The Open Mic nights will be held the Big Meeting Room.  A small sound system will be provided, but nothing to disrupt the readers in the stacks!

There will be a sign-up sheet at the library prior to the event to select your time slot and let us know what your talent is and how you would like to be introduced by the emcee!  Please note, time slots are in 10 minute increments so plan accordingly.

Knitting Club

This is a friendly group of members who knit and crochet at the Vestal Public Library. They meet to share new ideas and techniques and to enjoy the camaraderie that goes  along with it.  If you knit or crochet, you are aware that a mistake here or there is inevitable. These folks are happy to help with this.  The group meets the second Thursday of every month in the Meeting Room from 10-12 pm. At times donations are made to charities.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact Information Services at 754-4244.

Join us for Book Club 2nd Tuesday of the Month

The next meeting for book club is January 8th, 6 pm – 8 pm. We will meet in the Conference Room. This month’s book will be bibliophile’s choice, that is,

each member will choose a book to discuss with the group. This will introduce us to new authors and genres that we may not have considered.

It should be interesting. We look forward to having you join us.
