SUMMER READING CHALLENGE
KIDS - Ages 0 - 18
Summer Reading Challenge runs from Monday, June 24 - Friday, August 16 for all ages! Track your progress by checking, crossing, or coloring a forest icon for every 15 minutes you read. For example, if you read 45 minutes in one day, mark off 3 icons. For every 3 hours (1 Row/12 forest icons) you read, bring this sheet to the library to collect a small prize and submit a raffle ticket (on the fold-out inside) for a grand prize!
All reading logs must be returned no later than Saturday, August 24, to be eligible for prizes and raffle. Don't forget that graphic novels, audiobooks, eBooks, magazines, and articles count too!
GROWNUPS - Ages 18+
Summer Reading Challenge runs from Monday, June 24 - Friday, August 16 for all ages!
-
Register for summer reading by picking up a punch card from any VPL desk starting June 24.
-
Fill in you name and phone number.
-
You will receive one hole punch upon return of a completed book or audio book.
-
Finished Ebooks and audiobooks from Libby or Hoopla can count towards punch cards by showing a VPL staff member a screenshot of the completed, returned title.
-
Patrons can start multiple cards if they forget the original at home.
-
Uncompleted Cards with multiple punches can be combined to make one completed card (ie. one card with 3 punches, one card with 2 punches makes one completed card). If there are more than 5 punches, the surplus punches can roll over onto the next new cards.
-
When your punch card is full, a staff member will initial it for you and you can enter it into the basket raffle of your choice. Basket raffles are located on the display table by circulation.
-
At the end of summer reading, a drawing will be made and winners will be contact by phone call.
